Mission Statement:

The Eden Carlson Pediatric Anoxic Brain Injury Fund primarily exists to grant resources into the International Hyperbaric Medical Foundation for timely distribution into affiliated clinics utilizing the pediatric anoxic injury recovery protocol devised by Dr. Paul G. Harch, MD in the care of recent victims of anoxic brain injury.

Determination of appropriate windows to intervention and identification of appropriate clinical care sites will occur on a case by case basis by physicians on the boards of the IHMF and IHMA.

As the mission of the IHMF is also research, the resources developed will secondarily support clinical data collection in outcomes at site of care designated level within the participating clinics who’s staffs are members of the International Hyperbaric Medical Association.

A longitudinal goal of the fund is the development of university-affiliated pediatric anoxic brain injury centers of excellence that can be the tertiary point of care for children like Eden who survive the first several hours

or days of these catastrophic injuries.
